Last year, thousands of our neighbors walked through our doors carrying worry, exhaustion, and the weight of not knowing how they would get through the week. Because of you, they left with groceries, stability, and a renewed sense of hope.

You Fed Families in Their Hardest Moments

Parents who weren’t sure how to stretch one more meal found shelves full of fresh food waiting for them. Together, we distributed 938,343 pounds of food — more than $1.8 million in nourishment for families.

For many, this wasn’t just food. It was relief.

You Helped Families Rebuild Stability

From warm coats to holiday gifts to the simple dignity of a birthday celebration, your generosity touched lives in big and small ways:

Clothing, household goods, children’s items, and gift cards
Making Christmas and birthday surprises for nearly 2,000 children

In all, you provided $2.58 million in essential in-kind support — a lifeline for families working to regain their footing.

You Kept Families Housed and Safe

When neighbors faced eviction notices or utility shutoffs, you stepped in.

329 households received rent assistance
352 households kept their lights and heat on
82 families had a safe place to sleep through emergency lodging

Your compassion delivered $445,845 in critical financial assistance , preventing homelessness and providing stability when it mattered most.

Our Volunteers Stood Behind Every Moment

And behind every moment of support were volunteers and staff who showed up with open hearts — 50,600 volunteer hours, the equivalent of 24 full-time team members, all fueled by your generosity.

Thank You for Changing Lives

Your support created over $3 million in total assistance this year. But the full impact can’t be measured in dollars or pounds of food. It lives in every parent who slept easier, every senior who felt seen, every child who got to celebrate their birthday, and every neighbor who realized they weren’t facing hardship alone.

Because of you, hope was not just offered, it was delivered.

Help & Hope Center Earns 2024 Nonprofit of the Year Award

Help & Hope Center was honored as the 2024 Nonprofit of The Year by the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce! This is an honor that we celebrate with you because it would not be possible without you.

Since its inception 40 years ago, HHC has been by the community, for the community. We exist because some community members recognized a significant need and joined together to offer neighbors a helping hand. We’re still around today because there is more need than ever before.

One thing that makes Help & Hope Center truly special is that we serve all types of Douglas and Elbert counties residents. Everyone who walks through our doors has a different story, family, and need. However, the things they all have in common are suffering and desperation.

Many of our clients make too much to qualify for government assistance, but not enough to get by. So, when a crisis comes, Help and Hope Center is one of the few places they can turn to for help.

We meet people in the midst of hardship to offer a hand up and a way through while they get back on their feet, and our community makes it possible. Together, last year we served 29,280 neighbors in need. That is a nearly 44% increase over 2021. The need is persistent, and it takes all of us to make a difference.

To our donors, our volunteers, our staff – thank you! Here’s to the award we won and the lives we are changing together. With your partnership, we are ensuring that those who are suffering and desperate always have a place to turn!
