Client Advocate 

(Part-time, approx. 16 - 25 hours per week)

Reports To: Program Director


Summary: Help & Hope Center is a non-profit whose mission is to meet the immediate needs of residents of Douglas and Elbert Counties who are in financial distress and at risk of becoming homeless, to help them through troublesome times with dignity. The Client Advocate works directly with clients to deliver agency services. Primary services provided to clients in need include food, household necessities, and emergency financial assistance (rent, utility and overnight lodging).


Responsibilities:

  • Meet one-on-one with clients experiencing financial crisis
  • Assess clients’ needs in an empathetic, non-judgmental way in order to determine appropriate agency assistance
  • Prepare clients for the food selection process or submit clients’ food order
  • Provide clients with resources and referrals as appropriate
  • Work closely with volunteers to ensure an orderly flow of clients through Client Services
  • Advocate for clients with utility companies, landlords etc.
  • Collaborate with other human services organizations to meet client needs
  • Pay client bills in accordance with agency policies, agency budget and grant requirements
  • Accurately document client interaction and assistance in the Empowor database and other required locations
  • Comply with agency policies, funding and partner requirements
  • Assist Program Director and Development Director in obtaining information for grant preparation and reporting
  • Attend agency staff meetings and training sessions
  • Represent agency at occasional functions outside of normal client service hours
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (human services field preferred)
  • Knowledge of social risk factors
  • Ability to take an objective overview of the situation in order to recommend the best course of action
  • Capacity to provide compassionate strategic support to help clients overcome challenges while also setting appropriate boundaries
  • Ability to embrace the unexpected as a challenge rather than a problem
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, active listening, and written communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Capacity to be a detail-oriented team player
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office applications at a minimum)
  • Flexibility with schedule (work one evening per month)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate in Spanish
  • Prior human service or non-profit experience

Development Coordinator

(Full-time, 40 hours per week)

Reports To: Director of Development


Summary

Help & Hope Center works alongside our community to ensure individuals and families in Douglas and Elbert Counties have access to basic needs and the opportunity to move toward stability. We believe fundraising is about building relationships, sharing responsibility for community care, and connecting people to meaningful ways to take action.


This role plays an important part in that work by supporting the systems and communications that connect donors, partners, and our mission.


Role Description

The Development Coordinator helps achieve the mission of the Help & Hope Center by supporting fundraising and communications activities. This role provides key development support, including assisting with reporting in Salesforce, providing administrative support for the Development Director, and coordinating all communications initiatives.

 

This position works closely with the Development Director to align donor, marketing, and agency strategies. The Development Coordinator contributes to external communications, ensuring consistent and timely messaging across platforms.

 

The Development Coordinator must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written), attention to detail, and familiarity with or willingness to learn Salesforce to accomplish annual fundraising and communications goals. Candidates must have professional experience managing social media platforms and digital communications.


Responsibilities


Development Administration

  • Responds to administrative support needs for the development team.
  • Contributes to donor stewardship and donor care efforts.
  • Works within donor database (Salesforce) to ensure data accuracy and cleanliness; builds reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Assists in planning and executing donor events.
  • Attends development-related meetings, events, and other HHC events as needed, including evenings and weekends.

 

Communications & Marketing

  • Works with the Development Director to develop and maintain a social media and communications calendar aligned with fundraising priorities, donor engagement, and agency goals. Executes scheduled communication across all platforms.
  • Creates and coordinates marketing materials for fundraising, volunteer, or agency-wide campaigns, including digital and print pieces.
  • Develops and executes content for emails, social media, and donor and agency-wide communications, including scheduling, posting, and sending communications.
  • Maintains and updates the Help & Hope Center website as directed by the Development Director.
  • Ensures consistent branding and messaging across all development and agency communications.
  • Collaborates with staff to gather stories, program updates, and impact content to support fundraising and communications efforts.
  • Tracks and reports on communications and marketing performance, including social media engagement, email metrics, and campaign effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Experience managing social media platforms and digital communications, including email and social media content
  • 2+ years of donor development or related experience preferred
  • Proficient in Canva or similar graphic design tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM preferred


Salary & Benefits

  • $45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience and qualifications
